Welcome
We lay the foundation for Earth Stewardship with our own lifestyle.
- We adopt the Kyoto Protocol for ourselves and limit our own use of fossil fuels.
- We oppose wars for imported oil by reducing our own oil consumption to a level that does not require imports.
- We fight sprawl by walking, bicycling, using public transit, and choosing to live where these modes are viable. Sprawl is not a place; it is a livestyle of driving virtually everywhere we go, and parking virtually everywhere we stop. Driving is the single most destructive thing ordinary Americans do to the planet.
We build Earth Stewardship in the world on this foundation of personal integrity. We advocate Stewardship among family, friends, neighbors, coworkers...our community...and ultimately the world. We create the possibility for Stewardship in our speech: "I will..." and "Will you...?". We destroy it when we say: "They should..." and "People won't..."
